Chrome Tidy

Tab management Chrome extension and web app

Client: Personal ProjectYear: 2026Duration: 1 week View Live

The Challenge

Working across multiple client projects means dozens of browser windows with hundreds of tabs — many of them duplicates — consuming memory and making it impossible to find anything. Existing tab managers offer basic lists but lack meaningful organisation like tagging, duplicate detection, and the ability to auto-sort tabs into windows by project.

The Solution

I designed and built a Chrome extension paired with a Vue 3 web app, using TypeScript, TailwindCSS, and Firebase. The extension syncs all open tabs to the web app where users can tag them, detect duplicates, identify stale tabs consuming memory, and use the "Auto-Tidy" feature to automatically organise tabs into separate browser windows grouped by tag.

The Results

A fully functional productivity tool that solves a real daily frustration. The Auto-Tidy feature can reorganise an entire browser session in one click — grouping tabs by project, closing duplicates, and reclaiming hundreds of megabytes of memory.
