Glamping Hut 3D Configurator

Real-time, browser-native 3D product configurator built with AI-augmented modelling

Client: Self-Initiated ExplorationYear: 2026Duration: 4 days

The Challenge

Most 3D on the web is either a static turntable or a heavyweight engine build that takes a team to produce. I wanted to find the ceiling: how far can one person push real-time, interactive, configurable 3D in the browser when 25 years of design and frontend craft is combined with AI-augmented 3D modelling and limitless creative licence? This was not a client brief. It was a deliberate piece of R&D to see what is now genuinely possible.

The Solution

I modelled the hut, its furniture, and the surrounding scene in Blender, driving the modelling through the Blender MCP integration with Claude Code, then built the entire web layer in Vue 3 and TypeScript with TresJS on top of Three.js. The result is a live configurator: an orbit camera with framed preset views, click-to-configure furniture that adds and removes itself from a priced cart, glass doors that swing open on click, three switchable HDRI environments (garden, indoor, meadow), a time-of-day sun, and individually dimmable interior and bedside lighting, all rendering in real time in the browser with grounded skybox reflections and cast shadows.

The Results

A fully interactive, browser-native 3D configurator running live on this site, embeddable and explorable in-page. It is proof of a new way of working: the combination of deep design judgement, frontend engineering, and AI-augmented 3D collapses what used to require a studio into something a single practitioner can conceive, model, and ship.
