AI-rendered interactive 3D gallery for a 500+ profile millwork catalogue

The Challenge

Alpine Wood Products manufactures over 500 wood moulding profiles: crowns, bases, casings, panel moulds, chair rails, and more. Customers could only browse them as flat 2D CAD line drawings, which make it hard to judge the real depth, contour, and character of a profile before ordering. Alpine needed a way for customers to see each profile as it actually looks in three dimensions, without bolting a backend, a cart, or ongoing maintenance onto their existing Webflow site.

The Solution

I used AI to do work that would have been prohibitively slow by hand at this scale. Working with Claude driving a local Blender MCP, I processed the full catalogue of profile splines into textured, photorealistic 3D wood models, generating a product thumbnail and lightweight STL geometry for every profile. On top of those outputs I designed and built an interactive 3D gallery: a searchable, category-filterable contact sheet of the whole catalogue on one side, and a three.js viewer on the other that lets customers rotate, zoom, and reset any profile, with a toggle to flip to the original dimensioned 2D CAD drawing. The app is a static, front-end-only Astro shell mounting a Vue 3 island, deployed on Webflow Cloud and embedded straight into Alpine's existing site.

The Results

A production tool live at alpinewoodproducts.com/millwork, letting Alpine's customers browse the entire moulding catalogue and inspect any of the 500-plus profiles in 3D. The AI render pipeline turned a job that would have been impractical to hand-model into a repeatable process, and the finished gallery drops into the client's Webflow site with no backend to run and nothing to maintain.
